Grand openings and launches

Grand opening and product launch invitations

A new store, office, studio or restaurant, or a product going on sale. An invitation in your brand with a map to the right door, guests confirm in two taps, and you know how many glasses and chairs to order.

A quote within one working day · $99 per event · up to 150 people

An opening lasts two hours, and the guest list takes three weeks

The people you invite to an opening come from everywhere: partners, clients, neighbors on the street, local press, friends of the team. Each group hears about it on a different channel, so nobody knows how many will actually turn up. The caterer gets a guess, and the journalist who said yes in the hallway never shows.

How it usually goes

  • Partners get an email, friends a text, everyone else an Instagram post
  • Yeses arrive by word of mouth, by email and in the comments
  • Food and drink are ordered by guesswork
  • On the day, guests call because they cannot find the entrance or parking
  • Afterwards nobody can say which of the invited partners came

With the invitation and registration

  • One link that works in an email, a text, WhatsApp and LinkedIn
  • A list of who is coming with their names, always current
  • A real number for the caterer a week ahead, not an estimate
  • A map pin on the entrance itself, with a note about parking
  • QR tickets at the door, so afterwards you know who came

What you get

An invitation in your brand

Your logo at the top, your colors, a light or a dark background. It looks like it came out of your own marketing, not out of a template catalog.

A map to the actual door

We put the pin on the entrance, not the middle of the block. A short note can sit under the address: use the courtyard entrance, park behind the building.

The program by the hour

Doors open, ribbon cutting, a short welcome, a tour, drinks. Each part has its own time, so guests know when they need to be there.

A headcount for the caterer

Guests say how many are coming and list anyone they bring, with diets and allergies. You export the list as a spreadsheet and send it on.

Invitation wording you can copy

Copy it and change the names, dates and places. When we build your invitation, you write the text or we put it together with you. More examples in the guide to corporate event invitation wording.

Example wording for a grand opening

You are invited to the opening of our new studio.

After six months of building work, Northline Design is moving into 214 Market Street, and we would love you to be among the first to see it.

Thursday, May 14, from 6 to 8:30 pm. A short welcome and the ribbon cutting at 6:30, then a tour of the space with drinks and small bites.

Please let us know by May 7 whether you can come, so we can plan for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you,

Anna Reyes, Founder, Northline Design

Example wording for a product launch

Join us for the launch of the Harbor 2.

We are showing it for the first time to the partners and customers who helped shape it, a week before it goes on sale.

Tuesday, March 3, at 7 pm, The Foundry, 88 River Road. A 20-minute presentation, then hands-on time with the product and dinner.

Places are limited, so please register by February 24.

Common questions

How far ahead should we send grand opening invitations?

Three to four weeks ahead for partners and press, whose calendars fill up first. Ask for replies one week before the opening, which gives the caterer a real number and leaves you time for a reminder.

Can we invite partners, press and the neighborhood with the same invitation?

Yes. The link is the same for everyone and can go out by email, text, WhatsApp or LinkedIn. Each guest gives their name and how many people they are bringing, so you can see who from which group has said yes.

Can the invitation show the exact entrance and parking?

Yes. The map pin goes on the entrance itself, and a short note under the address can say where to park or which door to use. Guests open directions in their own maps app in one tap.

Can guests be checked in at the door?

Yes. Everyone registered gets a ticket with a QR code, on screen and by email. Whoever greets guests scans it with a phone, with no app and no account, and anyone without the QR is found by name. Afterwards you know exactly which partners and press came.

What does it cost?

$99 once per event for up to 150 registered people, with no subscription and no charge per attendee. Larger events, and agencies running several events a year, get a separate quote. The invoice is issued to your company or organization.

Opening soon?

Send us the date, the address and a rough number of guests. A quote follows within one working day, and you see the finished invitation before anyone else does. For a quick question: +385 91 326 3112.
